About

My interest in genealogy and geohistory is an outgrowth of my desire to understand more about the communities in which my ancestors lived. Many of my ancestors found themselves in the liminal spaces between cultures, such as Francophones in the Saint John River Valley facing potential international conflict over their settlements, and German-speaking Alsatians becoming members of the French nation. Their journeys spanned thousands of miles over the centuries, only a portion of which I am able to capture below.
